DMA nominated for Excellence in Historical Recorded Sound Research

by Elliot Thorpe, 25 January 2023

We are delighted to learn that our 2022 book Dean Martin – A Discography (researched by our co-founder the late Bernard H Thorpe) has been nominated for the 2023 Association for Recorded Sound Collections Awards for Excellence in Historical Recorded Sound Research.

Genuinely elated that Bernard’s work and legacy is worthy of recognition in this way. He dedicated his life to documenting Dean Martin’s life and career and we’re honored to be continuing that. Should his book by some hugely slim chance win, we will be delighted to accept the award on his behalf.

The goal of the ARSC Awards program is to recognize and draw attention to the finest work now being published in the field of recorded sound research.

The winners will be announced by September, and the awards will be presented during a banquet at ARSC’s annual conference in May 2024. Additional information about ARSC, the awards, and this year’s conference may be found on the ARSC website at www.arsc-audio.org
